@vang-u the supposed workaround does not work on our 16.04.3
environment, bug still exists. Any news for bugfix?

I am using VPCYS1E (Y Series) Sony Vaio notebook, I am using Ubuntu 9.04 with
2.6.31-20-generic kernel. I am also experiencing same issue, i couldn't control
screen brightness with any of gnome and linux tools . I have tried disabling
Acpi from kernel also tried acpi_backlight=vendor but not
