Interesting is, that the network manager suggests vpnc or openvpn even if none are installed. But for vpnc- which I normally use - I have the same issues as Alan mentioned above, even when vpnc 0.5.3 is installed. I also use an up to date Jaunty version (Intel Corporation Wireless WiFi Link 5300
