in most updated 9.10: cannot find mpi.mod for mpich2-dev which should be in /usr/include/mpich2 or somwwhere like this. ps. my last attempt to reinstall libmpich2-dev also failed. $sudo apt-get install mpich2 Reading package lists... Building dependency tree... Reading state information...

Thank u for your reponse. sorry, now ther version is correct and I could find mpi.mod in the include dictionary(/usr/include/mpich2). but $apt-file search mpi.mod cannot list this file. some other files in libmpich2-dev cannot be search in this way either. $ dpkg -l |grep mpich rc

there shoule be an folder named mpich2 in /usr/include, where u can find may head files like mpi.h. The fact is I cannot find those head files. This is to say, I cannot compile any mpi-involved software from source via mpich2. openmpi package seems also have this problem. ps. I do installed
