This problem was briefly fixed for a few days.
However since kernel 2.6.24-19 it has come back again.
I am connected to my wireless network but network manager and wicd both
don't see the connection at all.

Ok I have a feeling I misunderstood the original bug. My wireless
doesn't show up as wireless, it shows up as wired but otherwise works
fine.
Is this the same problem you are having, or is yours not working at all?

It still works perfectly. But it doesn't show up in Network Manager as

Sorry, should have kept an eye on this, this bug was fixed for me with
an update before Hardy went final.
IMO it has been fixed.

In an attempt to recreate the bug I've discovered that it was caused by
right clicking on the pdf file and selecting properties in order to
rename it.
This was my first attempt at creating a backtrace so ignore my fumbling
at the start!

Experience the same problem, all compiz effects run fine but firefox is
a nightmare scrolling.
On sites like Google Reader scrolling down too fast makes firefox grey
out and continue scrolling to the bottom of the list.
Turning all visual effects off solves the problem.
