Sorry for late reply.
The device appears to hibernate when I close the lid. If fails to start
when I open.
It may be worth noting I chose the option to encrypt the /home during
the installation. Could this be part of the problem?

nvidia-current builds on my Ubuntu 12.04 on the 2006 Intel iMac. It does
not have a very good screen resolution however. Which is why I tried
nvidia 173.
Is there anything I should try or do?
