Binary package hint: lyx
After upgrading to lucid from karmic lyx fails to start. The error
message is lyx: error while loading shared libraries: libicudata.so.38:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
There is no libicudata.so.38 on my system, although

I take it back... it worked fine with wicd initially. But now I'm seeing
exactly the same problem. The strange thing is that either it's rock
solid or very flaky; and you get either one thing or the other whenever
you reboot.

I had this problem with my dell vostro 1510 laptop. It was fine before
upgrading to karmic, and then frequent disconnects after the upgrade.
I installed wicd instead of network manager that it works fine, so it
does indeed seem that th eproblem is with network manager.

or actually, it does, but you have to do from lcms import lcsm, where
normally people would just expect import lcms
