I have the same issue with almost the same laptop, mine is a Toshiba Satellite U405-S2856. Notice that this bug is duplicated in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/575598, so that makes at least 3 of us. I have noticed that USB mics do work. -- Microphone (sound capture)
