According to live.gnome.org, we will se a new notification center in
Gnome 3 (2.30?!):

because it's not obvious, and second because it makes installing the
updates gratuitously difficult."
This drives me nuts. As soon as the icon comes into play you get a
notification telling you what happened (Hello User, updates a

Since Jaunty Alpha 6 "Ctrl-Alt-Backspace" key combo is disabled by
default, so sending this combination to Jaunty guests renders useless as
long as "dontzap --disable" wasn't set. It would be nice if virtualbox-
ose could offer to send "Alt
I can confirm this bug and it drove me nuts when I tried copying files
from sysresccd.iso over to my usbstick. I ended up having boot errors
and it took me some time to find this bug to be responsible.
I also cannot understand why this is low priority, but as long as gvfs
is not able to mount ISOs
fontconfig-2.6.0-1ubuntu10 solved the problem for me. Thanks.

On a fresh install or within the Live-CD of Jaunty Jackalope Alpha6 font
rendering in Firefox was fine, but it got messed up after updating to
fontconfig 2.6.0-1ubuntu8. I asked for help on german ubuntuusers.de forum and
some others confirm

Okay, I guess another Ubuntu release without a usable mail-notification
package in the repositories, right? Any chance to see "Free Mail
Notification" in Backports for Intrepid soon? I think Debian and Ubuntu
would both benefit from a renamed and patched package, so please don't
hesitate any longer
