dlgandalf, i can use the keyboard in the bios. i have problem with it when i'm
installing ubuntu but only in the first menu where i can choose between
checking the cd for errors, or installing, or livecd...but than i used the
normal keyboard of my laptop and afterwards the external works great,

i can confirm this.
i upgraded from feisty because of the better external monitor support, and than
blender totaly crashed the whole system. no terminals, no X restarting, no
ctrl-alt-del working...afterwards i tryed the gutsy gibbon RC live CD and could
successfully install blender on that, now
I've reinstalled the feisty and problem has gone (i only had this issue
when kubuntu was upgraded from edgy)

anyway, i don't remember any special application running(usually
running: browser (opera/firefox), amarok, kmail, akregator,
superkaramba, kalarm, klipper), but i'll check this deeper tomorrow.

this happens most of the time when i try to check my desktop (karamba
for example)...i'm running kubuntu on a fujitsu-siemens a7640 laptop,
but this also has happened to me on a desktop computer. would you like

i've booted up the live cd, started to install and at the fourth step when i
have to select the method of the partitioning, the installer imediatly crashed
after i had selected manual partitoning (or something similar, i used hungarian

I can confirm this bug. It happens to me regulary from Kubuntu Dapper. now i
use Fesity and the bug is still exixst :(
i attached my crash report. i don't even need to start and app, just clicking
twice to the show desktop icon is enough to crash the kwin(for example when i
want to check some in
finaly i've got Kubuntu installed and i connected the laptop afterwards
to the internet and downloaded the updates and everything is fine now.
the laptop is in use in business already, so i can't reinstall it. i
can't try if it fails on another computer as all of around me runs
K/Xubuntu already...
