I'm not sure that this is a dupe of #192389, since there seems to be an
API change in python-compizconfig just recently. fusion-icon works
great for me in maverick, but crashes because the 'decoration' plugin's
name has changed to 'decor'. Also, Plugin.Screen is now used instead of
Plugin.Display.
Here's a patch against an installed fusion-icon that makes it work.
$ cp /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/FusionIcon/util.py util.py.orig
$ cd /
$ sudo patch -p1 < fusion-icon-decor.patch
... back out the patch:
$ sudo cp util.py.orig /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/FusionIcon/util.py

Binary package hint: gdm
Steps to reproduce:
1. configure gdm for automatic login, timed login
2. reboot
3. press [ENTER[ when GDM displays on screen ==> Bad behavior
4. Click on Automatic login ==> Successful login
Bad Behavior: the GDM dialog does a weird jump and redisp
