I have a similar setup, but LVM is wrapped in LUKS as well. When I was
dropped to the initramfs shell during boot (after entering the LUKS
passphrase), I think this was how I got the system to start:
/sbin/lvm vgchange -a y
mount -o subvol=root /dev/mapper/(one-of-the-root-volumes) /root
exit
I saw this during an upgrade to Artful. Deleting
/var/lib/dkms/virtualbox and /var/lib/dkms/vboxhost, then 'aptitude
reinstall virtualbox-dkms' seems to have resolved the problem.

It looks like I was wrong about the VDPAU message - that appeared when I

My partitions look like this:

doesn't happen with a guest account. I'm using Raring.

You're right, wicd seems to work for me as well.
It turns out network-manager and wicd can co-exist (I'm keeping network-

Those settings of yours are a bit odd... my DNS settings are
202.124.81.18 and 202.124.81.22.
The syslog suggests that the DNS addresses are reported during the PPP
initialization, so if the ISP wants to change them, it wouldn't affect
users using the automatic setting.
