Suspend/hibernate is still broken with 7.12 for me on my Mobility Radeon
9600 (IBM T42 Thinkpad): Video flickers and the screen goes black, but
neither the screen nor the laptop shuts off, and i can't resume.
On the bright side, my glxgears framerate has jumped from ~1900 fps to
~2600 fps.

I had the exact same issues. Uninstalling and reinstalling using .deb
packages solved them.
Also, removing xgl via apt-get helped too.

I had choppy video when I did the express install. It works pretty well
after uninstalling and reinstalling manually with deb packages. I have a
mobility 9600.

Doesn't work for me either. I get the same blinking moon on my Thinkpad.

I've implemented the Zenity script and it works well...if I run it as
root or restart acpid using sudo. If I don't, Zenity is unable to open
the dialog.
Things i've tried that haven't worked:
I tried starting acpid as me rather than root, and I've tried xhost +local:root.
Any ideas?
