Thanks for your reply. I did try firefox safe mode but the error still
popped up. I have since done a fresh reinstall of Hardy and Firefox is
fine now.

Same problem, my XP partition was not recognized during install of the
release candidate and grub did not create an entry for it. Additionally
every time a kernel update is received it wipes out my manually added
grub entry for XP.

Sebastien,
I found that there was no folder configured for sent and draft messages
in the preferences dialog box. I have now added the appropriate folders
and when sending I no longer receive an error. Thank you so very much
for pointing me in the right direction and assisting me in resolving
