With no boot parameters
ls /sys/class/backlight: acpi_video0
When using acpi_backlight=vendor as boot parameter:
ls /sys/class/backlight: dell_backligh
Sorry! I see what you mean. I wonder how it reverted back to the other
kernel image. Reinstalling now.

Dear Kamal,
I had installed your fix about a month back and it was excellently until a
couple of days back when I did a "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade".
I don't remember seeing any kernel related packages in the update.

I am still having this issue in Xubuntu 10.04 (32 Bit) installed on a Dell
Studio 15 (64 Bit).
Is there a fix? I tried the work-arounds floating on the internet, like
starting xfce4-panel in the terminal, saving the session and logging in again,
etc etc. Whatever I do, the panel disappears as so
Workaround for this problem:
(Works on Xubuntu 8.04.3 LTS, not sure about other versions.).
Put the theme in
/usr/share/icons/
>>/usr/share/icons/MyTheme
Modify the 'index.theme' in the '/use/share/icons/default' file to look like
this:

[Icon Theme]
Inherits=M
Still getting this bug in Xubuntu 8.04. Any workarounds?

I am still not able to seek the slider in the totem-browser plugin.

I am using Ubuntu 9.04 and still experiencing this bug.
Unable to create a custom Menu through "Add to panel" after right clicking on
the Panel. All it does is creates a clone of the Main Menu. Any changes in the
menu affects the Main menu as well.
