I'm having this issue, too. Here are three workarounds: Here are three workarounds: 1) Log out before closing your laptop lid. Your screen should start normally when you log in next. 2) If after opening your laptop and logging in you get a black screen, open TTY1 by pressing CTRL + ALT + F1.

I agree with scott symmank above. Every time I log on to my Acer AspireOne that little notification bubble pops up and won't go away -- even though I am connected to a wireless network. The only way to get of it is to click the X to close it. Every. Single. Log in. Very annoying. -- You

Same problem here with a Gateway laptop and Synaptic touchpad. After resuming from a suspend, the touchpad doesn't work at all. Hibernating doesn't affect the trackpad. I have had this problem for almost three years now. -- Synaptics touchpad ceases functioning after suspend and resume.
