The error occurs on the Tecra S3 Laptop right after the first reboot,
when Unbuntu 7.04 Live CD has completed the install and tells you to
remove the disk and reboot. The system will come up on its own and then
hangs at that point.

U might try the DVD version of Ubuntu which has a larger repertory of software
burnt in and possibly additional drivers. It is possible that the CD(if that’s
what ur using) may not come with the native drivers to run ur hardware. The DVD
also gives additional options to get Ubuntu installed on y
ion...if U got a Windows OS
as well installedmake the Windows Bootloader in the Windows partition to
give you the Linux boot option when the computer first boots up...that way U
can get to GRUB boot options and then get Ubuntu to boot up from your
computer's Hard Drive...Good Luck!

Processor: Intel P4
Hards Drives: 2 IDE-40 GBs each(slave and master)
OS: windows XP Pro (originally installed)
Tip:
Made sure that Windows was booting up normally and then booted from the Ubuntu
Live CD to get Ubuntu desktop from the CD
