0.8.4a is not working for me for an iMON LCD display. lsusb reports

OK, I ran the install for nagios3 using adept_manager. It looks like it
installed everything installed correctly:

on CPAN (http://www.cpan.org), the single largest repository of Perl
modules. I don't know what standard Debian and/or Ubuntu practice is

I'm sorry, I forgot one piece of information. I've run Gentoo PCs for
years. Every single one of these was able to accept and save the change
with no problem. This problem does seem to be specific to Kubuntu, not
upstream.
