I ran into this problem on Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit. The method from pos 14
initially did not work for me, but setting PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=1 using
the same command did the trick. I also tried the method from post 21

I use nautilus exactly the way dilomo has posted it.
1. Navigation toolbar is removed, but I dont think this wil be a sane
default. I sometimes need to alt-back or alt-forward, which would not be
an intuitive thing for a new user
2.Laco's first mockup looks good, but I need the icon-tree-compact
I think Janitor should remain, but there needs to be a way to
differentiate between user created cruft (manual packages) and system
created cruft.

When I installed ubuntu on my HDD, I left some free space. Later I formatted
the partition using NTFS. Then I edited fstab to auto mount the partition. The
problem is, the partition is automounting as a removable drive. It goes under

I can confirm this bug on intrepid too.
I think resetting the zoom would be a bad idea, as I have to change it every
time. BTW, I had the problem with ubuntuforums.org, I zoomed in one thread, and
all other was zoomed too. So if there is a way to induce page specific

one, and changed the swap partition size, now, my new swap partition is
not even loaded at startup. And running blkid gives me no uuid for my
new swap partition, it says /dev/sda7: TYPE="swap" and nothing more.

And somehow I ended up reconfiguring Xorg. then setting the driver to
Vesa ended my problems. I now have a monitor with only 800x600
resolution but I think I can notch it up fairly easily.
