when my computer resumes from suspend, the desktop comes up fine except
for the crash report. but my browser firefox or opera crashes randomly
and i sometimes get error reading file when opening my home folder or
the system locks up completely. this has only started happening
Did you add any packages?
just xrdp that i think would be related. ubuntu-restricted-extras, rtorrent and
ndiswrapper i installed as well.
Did you install the package updates?
my system was completely up-to-date when i installed xrdp. the version is
0.4.0~dfsg-8.
What option did you select in
the fact that i can connect to my linux desktop from a windows xp
machine using microsoft remote desktop would say that this does work. is
this not what you would like to be able to do?

I think this bug is fixed. on a clean 8.10 install ive had no problems.
to clarify how i got things working.
1. apt-get install xrdp. it has a dependency on vnc4server and installs
that automatically.
2.System->perferences->remote desktop
3. tick allow others to view your desktop. (you can chan
well you might have better luck using padsp
'~/games/ballistics/ballistics' instead. It is installed by default so
no apt get needed and it works with 32bit apps. occasionally this would
break pulse audio for me and there would be no sound on my system at all
until i restarted but i hear thats anot
yes the problem is still present in 8.10. Although i ran into the
problem with firefox not with WoW as the other poster. I think the only
solution is to put a version of alsa-oss into the ia32-libs package. But
for anyone who is interested

i am having the same problem, i cant get sun java working with 32bit
firefox as a workaround either, (think there is a seperate bug with ia32
-sun-java-bin package) this is a real pain since this worked just fine
in gusty
