Mounting CIFS share hangs when server is offline

Actually moving to cifs-utils under Ubuntu because cifs-utils itself
doesn't seem active or the correct place.
Notes: this is not an fstab problem, if you do this command manually it still
hangs if the server is turned off:
mount -t cifs //server/share /media/share

i don't mean this as a 'me too' post, i have clicked 'this affects me
too' - just in reply to your post above, i had this problem installing
today upgrading to with the proper 11.04 release.

I had this problem, and fixed it by removing an& from one of the
folder names i had copied onto my phone.
