Public bug reported:
Repeated attempts to install ubuntu 12.04 on Sony vaio (vpceb3tfx ) failed.
Installer fails soon after copying files.
I chose 1st installer option i.e. remove existing linux(one with crapy upgrade
from 11.10 to 12.04).

Both the solutions in comment #21 worked for me
1). I could mount folders via obexfs
2). apt repo upgrade as below
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:blueman/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get upgrade
I feel this bug can be closed
