I have to admit my solution in #3 does not work for me either. Notebook
is not my own so I was not aware that problem is still there. I thought
we had a state were the bad behavior was gone.

For me it looks exactly like the broken screenshot in #1. Has been that
way with 11.04 and no changes in 11.10 on both my pc and notebook. Have
never seen a screen like in #2.

For me it works better when I tell mt-daap to not convert tracks to wav:
never_transcode = ogg,mpeg

banshee cannot reliably play daap
I don't think it's a race condition between access and mount. Same here
without autofs, home gets mounted at boot time. Happens only when I
switch to nfs4, vers 3 works fine.

I had the same problem with an Edge 11. I am now using the following
kernel command line for grub in /etc/default/grub:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=acpi_osi=linux noapic i8042.nomux=1
If I remember correctly the first two settings are necessary for sleep
modes to work and the i8042.nomux=1 setting fixes
I don't see this issue anymore with Ubuntu 10.10.

My crashes described in #9 no longer happen with Ubuntu 10.10. Seemed to
be a bug in the Intel xorg driver.

Same here with Lucid AMD64. I created a very simple image with
OpenOffice and exported to SVG. I can see a preview in Nautilus, when I
try to open it in EOG the whole GNOME desktop freezes. When I try to
dragdrop the image, desktop freezes. When I select it in Firefox for
upload, desktop freezes.
Same here. Huawei E160E recognized as
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 12d1:1003 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. E220
HSDPA Modem / E270 HSDPA/HSUPA Modem
Is not auto-detected as modem:
[ 247.868434] usb 1-3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 3
[ 248.011668] usb 1-3: configuration #1
Maybe this is related to bug #414458.

Just tried to print a 100 page PDF to HP LaserJet 4100DTN network
printer accessible via CUPS. Data LED was blinking for some minutes,
then the job just disappeared. I wouldn't consider this issue solved...

Same here with Dell D430 after upgrade from 9.10 to 10.4. Random X
crashes, less frequently since I switched of 3D desktop effects. Still
about once a day.
