forgot to mention: I need the hibernation as this is for a laptop and
using suspend simply drains the battery and it dies, hibernation could
preserve the battery over a week.

it could not find the updates. i think the error was on the ubuntu side.
I checked what it was looking for and those packages were not available
on the server. it works now as packages are available.

it is exactly the same, and I am not the only one waiting for a solution. there
