Testing today, PulseAudio playback is behaving remarkably well.
I'm able to produce lots of "underrun" errors when scrubbing with a lot of
tracks, but no freezes.

I've had this problem for several years and have finally found a
workaround that works for me.
My current system is:
Xubuntu 16.04 LTS
Advent wireless mouse (also happens with other mice, including wired)
SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad. Disabled in "Mouse and Touchpad" application.

Launching with LC_MESSAGES=en_US.UTF-8 audacity does not solve it for me.
Changing the language to English does not solve it.
Installing Audacity onto a system with the system-wide default language
set to Hebrew, the problem occurs.
If I install with the system-
This may be a duplicate but other reports appear to be on older versions
of Ubuntu.

At first I thought that Audacity may be "doing the right thing" because 24 bit
uncompressed audio could be imported and exported losslessly, but now I think
that this may be another bug.

The problem does not occur when exporting to 24-bit PCM using the "Other
uncompressed files" option. (tested with signed 24-bit WAV and signed 24-bit
AIFF).
The problem does occur with 24-bit FLAC.
Does this give a clue to how to fix the problem?

For clarification on my previous comment:
1) Import a 24 bit file into Audacity with the default settings (creates a
32-bit float track).
2) Export the track as a 24 bit WAV file.
The audio in the exported file is identical to the original.

I'm trying to write some simple documentation for how to record "Stereo
Mix" in Ubuntu, but the absence of this icon complicates the issue.

An import WAV, MP3 and FLAC with FFmpeg, but importing WMA segfaults.

Same problem here.
I was dragging some Bookmarks from the Bookmar Toolbar into a new folder on the
Bookmar Toolbar. The first bookmark moved correctly, but then no other
bookmarks could be dragged.
Tried dragging using Organize Bookmarks, but they would not drag and drop there
either.
