Having the same exact problem. Same fstab line as in Jaunty, but not working.
Tried both wired and wireless connection.
"sudo mountall --debug" keeps waiting forever, although network is up.
"sudo mount -a" mounts my cifs share flawlessly.

I can confirm Dylan McCall workaround. Deleting all entries in /apps
/mail-notification/popups/actions (gconf) makes notifications work as
expected.

Same for me.
Cannot make mouse clicks when that happens, but i can use keyboard. If i
close the RDP session using the keyboard, mouse control is recovered.

I can confirm this.
Sometimes reassociation is instant, sometimes it takes a long time to
associate. If you click on network-manager-applet while waiting, no
ESSIDs are shown.

I can confirm the same behaviour. Running Hardy (updated as of 5 May) on
a Dell Latitude D620.
When the undock button is pressed the system frozes and keeps
unresponsive even to SysRq combinations.
After rebooting the following is registered at /var/log/messages:
