I reinstalled the OS and didn't install the restricted ATI driver and
now there's no problem.

I have the same error after making a clean install.
Accordring to the forums it's probably related to the restricted ATI/AMD driver.
Using Enter to continue doesn't work for me though.

Public bug reported:
When I close the lid of my laptop and open it again, it usually works
fine. But when I leave the laptop on overnight and want to start using
it the next day it won't resume. The screen is just black. It seems to
run fine in the background.
My computer: Dell Latitude D610.

I had this problem too. A new bunch of updates came today (after the updates
that caused this) but it wasn't fixed.
The URL mentioned above does the trick:
gconftool --type float --set /desktop/gnome/font_re
I installed the system again. This time I resized to a different size
than proposed by the partitioner.
The system boots normally. I do get an error I havn't gotten before:
I still get this one:
kinit: No resume image, during normal boot...
But the wait time wasn't bad but then this error scroll
I tried reinstalling and using the resize function. This time I just
used the suggested partition size instead of using the slider.
After installation the bug I reported did not happen. Really weird.
The installation boots and this comes up:
kinit: No resume image, during normal boot...

Though I think it's probable that it's related to something with the
disk I'm not sure it's the same bug. All those entries I got on
segmentation fault on the first install does seem a little bit more
drastic.
I'll back up my Windows and try and recreate the situation I got when
I reported the bug
Yes I understand. The only thing that could help is if someone did a complete
Windows install on NTFS, used the LIVE CD, and during the install resizes the
disk.
Unfortunately I have a lot of stuff on my Windows partition and can't live
without it right now.
My timezone is GMT+1 (Copenhagen).

During the reinstallation of the system I've changed something since the last
install:
Since the harddrive was now resized, I went into Gparted and removed the linux
filesystems and partitions so that there was only my NTFS partion and one empty
partion.
When the partitioner started during the i
I installed 7.04 instead to see if that would work and it did.
I'll reinstall the 7.10 again soon and see if the errors come again
(the resize won't happen this time because it's already resized, so
something might be diffrent - you never know).
If I get the same errors I'll try and take some pictu

Ubuntu 7.10 "Gutsy Gibbon" Tribe-1:
After booting the LIVE CD (it ran fine) I choose to install the OS. I choose
the guide to partion my harddrive and choose resize (because I have WinXP Pro
installed on the same partition).
After complete install the system won't boot up.
