The bug probably affects only ubuntu 12.04. In the Amharic-sera(m17n) Ibus
input method "a" should produce አ which is U12A0. Instead it gives ኣ which is
U12A3. I checked the debian packages at

I was not able to compare the upstreams db file for 1.3.4-1 which seem the
ubuntu version as it is no longer there. There is no way of getting the
character አ in ubuntu whi
i had same problem before installing gnome3 and after removing it.
reinstalling libgtk-vnc-1.0-0 did not help
starting vinagre from terminal gives

All washera fonts are released under GPL: I am sure there is some
technical reason but I am not clear on why they should go in to separate
packages. I will try to contact the GF Zemen creators and clear up the
licensing issue.
