After many days, It seems that I have solved the problem. I took many
steps:
1) Booted in single-user mode (recovery)
2) Removed two scripts from being used in runlevel 2 using sysv-rc-conf
tool:
a. wacom-tools
b. recently installed irda-tools
3) telinit into runlevel 2.
and no more

I cannot login my system due to the GDM login greeter freezing after a
few seconds after a successful boot. This problem seems to have come
after the update to gdm --version 2.18.1. The only way I am able to
login to my system is by booting in
Oh, I forgot to mention that I think this is due to the recent upgrade
to gdm 2.18.1 and/or the newest ATI drivers.

This will cause a major headache if not taken
I think this bug has been resolved in the newer kernels. I don't have
this problem anymore, what about you other guys? I would like to see
this bug closed.
