I'm writing a plugin for Hamster
(https://github.com/teranex/kupfer-plugins/blob/master/hamster.py) which uses
D-Bus. When I implemented a Source which returned another Source (as a
SourceLeaf), Kupfer would crash with a Segmentation
I'm using 12.10 (64 bit) and when I ran `apt-get dist-upgrade` it told
me Banshee had been kept back. When I removed banshee and tried to
reinstall it failed:
$ sudo apt-get install banshee banshee-extension-soundmenu

Reading state info
I had this problem with the eid-mw and eid-viewer packages. These are
provided by the Belgian governement for our electronic passports so I
could have guessed that those would be the problem... anyway, I edited
both files, changed the 'ë' in e and it fixed the problem

I had the same problem and 'fixed' it by renaming ~/.ICEauthority to
~/.ICEauthority.bak

I have the exact same problem on my Dell Studio 1558 after upgrading to Xubuntu
11.10.
If I open 'power manager' in the XFCE Settings Manager i get a blank window. If
I try to open it from the commandline I get the mentioned error.
I also have a Dell Latitude e6510, which was also upgraded to Xub

2.6.32-8-generic and it seems to work! Now my laptop powers down (tried
4 times until now) *and* hibernate also works now (tried 3 times until
now).

I also encounter this problem with my Acer 4001 WLMI, although sometimes
(1 out of 5-10 times) it does power down, but this seems to be
completely random (i tried with wi-fi disabled/enabled, on battery
power, ... but it is really unpredictable if it will power down)
