Ran into bug while trying updater was applying recent updates. Hung, had to
kill off process and clear locks. Ran
dpkg --configure -a
In the terminal the last message displayed that I could not click ok on was:

OK, so I just did a brand new install, clean machine, brand new drive,
downloaded 14.04 from server. Put on USB, Did full install. rebooted.
launced terminal
sudo and set root password
su to root
scp my old sshd_config off another ubuntu machine. version 10 LTS.
apt-get install openssh-server
.
.
I uninstalled bacula and that seems to have removed the problem. Guess I
could reinstall it and see if I get the problem again...

I've tried Alpha2 and Alpha3 both have the same problem. I've included
all the info, Xorg.conf etc... In the ticket. I'm even willing to allow
someone to access the machine over the internet while it's in this
state.

Found workaround in ubuntu forums, somehow I missed this when I was
searching earlier. I'll leave this ticket just in case it helps in
fixing the bug, but following the suggestion in the link below got me

I've now downloaded, installed and recreated this problem on Hardy Alpha3. I am

Just tried Hardy alpha2, with pretty much the same result. Xorg goes
into infinite loop.
I did a dpkg -i and installed the xserver-xorg-core with debugging
symbols and captured another trace if you are interested. I have
attached both the backtrace capture and my Xorg.0.log file, in a tar
file.
