This version is so outdated that there is little point in following up
this ticket.
There were major improvements for some known areas which were prone to
crashing in 2023. The 2024 nightly-build releases have not crashed on me
for ages. And I am almost daily user on Linux.
I suggest to close
I've some news about this bug.
I've another PC with Ubuntu 16.04 installed. The updates had not been made
since some time.
I checked that the bug was not existing at that moment.
Then I did the system upgrade with sudo apt-get update, upgrade and
dist-upgrade, autoremove.
And the bug did not
About compiz which is listed in apport-collect information.
This is something I found while trying to find information about the bug.
Someone was speaking about it, I installed it with:
sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
But I never used it.

A work-a-round to get the package installation to complete, is to copy other
gcc info files to the file that is missing.
This can be done by doing the following steps:

My network card blinking its' head off is a bit strange... but at least
the instructions in this bug report allow my wireless card to connect to
my WPA network. Isn't the network manager supposed to use
