I lost my patients and added the relevant sources in order in update my
system to LMDE Update Pack 4 which includes kernel version 3.2.
I'm happy to announce that the issue is no longer present since the
update :)

LMDE Update Pack 4 will include kernel 3.2 waiting patiently for
