Public bug reported:
There is no NLA (Network Level Authentication) support in current
version of FreeRDP in Oneiric and Presice repositories (0.8.x) but
current upstream version (1.0) offers it.
NLA support is needed to connect to most servers running Windows 7 or
Windows Server 2008.

I can confirm this. And yeah, this happens also with mp3 files. I'm
running 32-bit 9.10 with all updates installed.

I also noticed that volume level in front-left channel is about three
times lower than in front-right channel. This happens with my 5.1
soundcard (usb device) and with my laptops integrated stereo soundcard
(hda nvidia).

I noticed this bug too. Before I have edited /etc/pulse/daemon.conf to
get 5.1 sounds work (just like you Neil wrote) but with 9.10 it doesn't
help. I really hope this bug could be fixed before the final release,
now there is no way to get sounds out with 5.1 hardware.

Karmic 5.1 sound choppy,
Seems that nvidia driver version 180.51 fixes the problem. Unfortunately
there isn't 180.51 version in repositories yet.

Nice to hear I'm not alone with this problem. For me it helps if i add
these lines below to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base but if you have pci or
integrated sound card I don't believe this would help. After modifying
alsa-base file I still hear some rasping but a lot of less than before.
install usbhid
I think I finally found a solution to this bug. I just had to make sure
that modules snd_usb_audio and snd_usb_lib are loaded before usbhid
module. So I added lines below to file /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
install usbhid modprobe snd-usb-audio; modprobe --ignore-install usbhid
install usbhid modpr

Ok, status is now 'Invalid'.
There was really a bug or some other problems with Atheros-cards and
network-manager but it seems that it's fixed now. I'm not sure where the
bug really where, I just installed new updates yesterday and rebootet.
Now network-manager works again.
