Do you have an xorg.conf file? Can you try moving it out of the way
(move it to your home dir or something) and starting X without an

A workaround on AMD64 that worked for me is to install the plugin manually.
First, apt-get nspluginwrapper.
Then, download Flash from Adobe
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash
extract, and install the plugin with

That looks about like what I expected, it is damaging the screen every
time the screensaver updates (as it should). Do you have Unredirect
Fullscreen Windows enabled? If so, does enabling Sync to VBlank help?

This seems to be a generic texture_from_pixmap problem. If I run
metacity w/compositor it works fine, same with metacity w/xcompmgr. When
I try kwin with 2D (Render) compositing it works too.

Can you install kwin-kde4 and systemsettings-kde4 and see if kwin has
the same problem? Run `/usr/lib/kde4/bin/kwin --replace' to start kwin4
then run `/usr/lib/kde4/bin/systemsettings`, go into the Desktop
options, and enable effects. In the advanced options make sure it is
using OpenGL texture_fr
