Problem is when I'm using HDMI, I can't get sound over HDMI on most
apps. I tried using different apps but result is changing app to app.

Hi,
I tried re-running the test with your instructions. The problem, as
described, has gone away; with another problem coming up.
Switching from the classic mode to netbook mode works flawlessly now,
nothing to complain about. Switching from netbook to classic mode has
some weird behavior:

I had this bug on karmic-alpha6, while doing an update. The crash
happened as the new software was being installed.
The bug is intermittent, as I have successfully used the Update Manager
