I have the same problem on my system (Ubuntu 12.10) after having removed
the indicator-weather applet.
In my ~/.config/autostart directory there is a symbolic link named
indicator-weather.desktop
which is broken (because the applet was removed).

Plugin changes/updates were apparently not considered by the update,
which caused this problem.
