or when another app open stream. Its on all kernels and was on
I have upgraded to 21.04, no leaks here. So issue possibly with older libs used

This problem still persist in 10.10.
Is only solution for now to get appropriate performance is to use accel-pptp.
Now I have ~95Mbit pptp over pppoe, and ~65Mbit cifs over pptp over pppoe on
E8400 under maverick x64.
It will be great if someone makes accel-pptp package with dkms support.

This problem still present in 10.10.
I discovered cifs module parameter
parm: CIFSMaxBufSize:Network buffer size (not including header).
Default: 16384 Range: 8192 to 130048 (int)
But really it defaults to 4096.
I created /etc/modprobe.d/cifs.conf with
options cifs
I have this problem too on i386, also on amd64 additionally i have slow

Seems ubuntu developers too busy and fliyng in the clouds. Many only ubuntu
scripts works only in perfectly world, many often fail and there is no way to
continue task.
This must be done prior next release. This is major task. Also it's easy to
implement.
