Solved:
I did a fresh install of Oneric.
when clicking on the shutdown or restart, It just logs me out. after
uninstalling the hsqldb-server the restart and the shutdown works fine. But I
don't have this issue on my laptop (Dell Vostro with ATI chipset ).

the Date & Time system incorrectly indicates to Some African country
rather then India.

xserver-xorg-video-c*"
listed all the xserver packages instead of xserver-xorg-video-c* packages.

For me,Yes..when i tried to boot the Kubuntu kde4 CD, i was not able to
see the X server but when i looked the virtual terminals,it showed lots
of SQUASHFS error. I was not able to see the KDE4 desktop at all.

I'm not able to install Kubuntu 8.04 due to the squashfs error in my in
inspiron 6400 laptop. Used the Kubuntu 8.04 dvd iso as well as Kubuntu
8.04 KDE4 remix.
