For c930 and c940, the testing kernel is not suitable for them, they only
defines main speaker, this is different
The fix should be put into the kernel driver. I will build a testing

Please test with generic kernel, and set both DAC1 and DAC2 to maximum,
download the attached set-verb.sh, chmod a+x set-verb.sh, sudo ./set-
verb.sh. Check if the bass spk could output sound?

this device first, after getting all descriptors, the linux kernel will
load and call device driver according to ID, Class, ...
The error happens during the enumerating, this usually means the firmware on

We tried different kernels (4.15.0-oem, 5.4.0-64, 5.4.0-65 and 5.11+),
the audio controller can't access the codec stable. More or less, there
are some errors when controller access codec.
Although there is this kind of error, that doesn't mean the audio

According to the log in #3 and in #7, it is really an audio issue. The
HDA controller can't access the analogue codec. This is a valid bug.
This is the log (#3) that shows HDA controller get wrong info from analogue

add snd_hda_intel.model=dell-headset4 to the bootargs, and boot the

Not too sure, however, I can say this is not a bios/hardware related
bug, as on windows this never happens, also an interesting thing to note
is whenever I suspend my pc the cpu throttle to 400 MHz and becomes
unusable requiring a reboot

Interestingly I removed the int3403_thermal module, and disabled
thermald's critical shutdown using thermal.nocrt = 1. However, it still
shutdown with critical temp reached thermal zone 4 (80c). Anything left

The Hirsute doesn't have this regression since I cherry-picked the
upstream patch to Hirsute, all needed patches are in the Hirsute
already. But for groovy and focal, the patch can't be applied to them
without changing, so I backported the patch to groovy and focal, the
regression is
