I m running Ubuntu 9.10 inside VirtualBox which is installed inside Windows 7.
I am facing similar problems with Gedit when I try to save files in shared
folders while I can save files with leafpad in shared folders.

I want to notify that my error has now been solved. I use this command
sudo aptitude reinstall xkb-data and now the error is gone.

After upgrading(not clean install but actually upgrading) from 8.10 to
9.04 after the reboot I got this error.
I reported this as a new bug because all the previous report for this
kind of bug were for older versions of Ubuntu

My Motherboard is with Intel 845 G and my problem is little strange then
others. If I use i810 driver then everything is fine but I do not get my
desired resolution so when I install intel driver I get my desired
resolution but whenever I start the PC I am greeted with a low
resolution login screen
The same problem of unsupported resolution remains even in the final
release. :(

Today I installed Kubuntu beta 7.10 and the same resolution problem

resolution while in fiesty I have to install xserver-xorg-video-intel in
order to get that resolution so I was happy but after 2 reboot the
system automatically goes to 1024x768 resolution and till now it is

Ok I have updated my driver from xserver-xorg-video-i810 to xserver-
xorg-video-intel and I think my problem is solved(but I will try for 1
or 2 days just to make sure) and the biggest change was the resolution
and that is now I have 1152x864 resolution(I like to work in as high
resolution as possi

I installed the system and everything was fine then I do the updates and
I get two kernel to boot from so default I boot from the new kernel but
I get the blank screen and I cannot see the login screen nor do I hear
any sound on the login screen and pressing Ctrl-Alt-Backspace
