Public bug reported:
Pretty much summarizes my issue. My headset connects perfectly using
Kubuntu's KBluetooth, then icon turns blue after entering the passkey,
etc. However, when I do 'aplay' I get the following error message:

PC locked up on me over night. Left it running for testing purposes. The
X server froze and I had to ctrl+alt+backspace my way out.
Good news is no more kernel freezes. Just X.

Saïvann Carignan,
Probably because you did so just now. That's after the recent update...
so probably new users aren't affected any longer. Good news that is.
This is why we call it a BETA version. :-)

I also had an invalid UUID in "/etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume". This
fixed it.
By the way, the bug occurred after upgrading from Kubuntu Gutsy. No
other OS on my computer. My USplash used to segfault as well until a
couple of days ago, apparently one of the updates fixed it.

I thought so. Let us know if there is any progress. WEP is pointless as
it is highly insecure.
Anyway, thanks for responding quickly. :-)

Jose R. Padilla,
Does it work with full WPA2 support and Network Manager?

Same issue here on 2.6.24.16 kernel with nVidia graphics card. Blank

usually switch to tty1-6 and kill KDM, then restart it manually.
Any other info I can provide?

Same problem here. I am on Kubuntu Hardy Beta. Got a GeForce FX 5900XT,
kernel 2.6.24-15-generic. Boot splash would not come up, I can change
resolution just fine, but no splash at all.
Anything I can provide?

Tried Kubuntu Hardy and my rt2570 (Linksys WUSB54G V4) could not
establish a connection with my WPA2 secured network. It fails badly
although it recognizes it.
I will once again revert to using 'ndiswrapper'. How sad.

Same problem here with Kubuntu Gutsy. The whole system would freeze on
me after a while and a reset is necessary.
Strangely the error does not occur while I am working with the PC. Could
this have anything to do with the screensaver?

I am running Kubuntu Gutsy and I chose the 'connect at log-in' option
