I'm having a similar problem in Kubuntu with nvidia=glx. The card is a nVIDIA GeForce4 MX440-SE. As long as I've not tried to use the nVIDIA drivers, it works fine. Soon as I try to install the proprietary nVIDIA ones, it won't load KDM. However, I downloaded 7.10 "Gutsy" Ubuntu, & installed t
