the problem seems to worsen over time. i did a fresh install of the
system, no distortion whatsoever was present. the following days slight
dÃstortion occured, by now (~ a week later) the situation is almost as
bad as before. all i ever changed in that time was setting levels with
alsamixer (muting
this is still an annoying issue. i'm on lucid 2.6.32-24-generic. got rid
of this problem somehow in the past by deleting some alsa files and
reinstalling it. tried just reinstalling now, didn't fix the distortion.
