I have just tried the kernel on a live usb (I didn't have the good
ubuntu version installed). It starts to suspend, but after one second or
so, it wakes up. Then, / is read-only (?).

Here, the writer/calc launcher work (didn't try the others, bu they
should work too). Only the start center doesn't work. But, if I recall
correctly, this launcher doesn't appear in the gnome menu by default.
So, it should just be disabled. Otherwise, it won't work, since the
