I have this issue too. I've attached my valgrund log of 64bit bit Ubuntu
and 2d 14h uptime. gnome-panel is now usuing 181mb of ram and it is set
to auto-hide. After 1-2 days uptime it's very hard to use my pc without
restarting gnome-panel..

When sort by artist option is chosen the songs are sorted properly at
same parts of the playlist but at other they are not sorted at all...and
as if they start again from a at some parts. That's when trying to
sort ~2500 songs on Kubuntu 8.04.
