I'm the current QtCurve maintainer and here is what I have figured out
about the bug now.
Both of them are because the application is using the minimum size of the
scrollbar as the size of the box and therefore for a narrow scrollbar which had
a small minimum size the size of the box is als

I didn't try to ssh to the machine, however, switch to another tty is always
possible, although nothing change even I restart X. I don't really know what
Xorg hang means but will that cause a nearly 100% use of CPU?
