@Teunis, I am running the 2.6.39.4 kernel in Mint 12. The default kernel runs so hot on my laptop and the downgraded kernel runs normally so I don't think it is kernel related. I just tried florin's "fix" in post 70 and will see how it goes. This bug is maddening. Mine has frozen 3 times today
