Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org
inside a document, if you want to link to another document, it appears you have only one option; to use the absolute path to that document. this is problematic in that if you want to mail the master document and all the linked documents, all the links will break. the help documents indicate that toggling 'save urls relative to file system' should absolve this requirement. in reality, i do not see that it does anything at all. example: a document at /home/user/Desktop/client/doc_for_client.odt linking to another file from within that document creates a link to /home/user/Desktop/client/linked_document.odt if those two documents are put into a zip [client.zip] and sent to client, when that client unzips them to C:\Documents and Settings\clientuser\Desktop\client\ though the documents will work individually, a link from within them will fail, as it will still be attempting to reach /home/user/Desktop/client/ . . . rather than C:\Documents and Settings\clientuser\Desktop\client . . . ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- unable to create hyperlinks to files in a relative context https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/129732 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
