I've spent a while over the last couple of weeks searching around for information on any latency issues with the notebook, but unfortunately had no luck. It's running the latest firmware available. That said, the audio works perfectly under 10.04, which would tend to rule out firmware issues.

Ok - for a bit of clarification, I see these problems mostly when I'm just using pulseaudio as a normal user, playing back sound on my laptop through the laptop's inbuilt speakers (or headphones). So the source the sink are the same machine. However - I also see them pop up when I use my laptop
