Today I ran into the same prob. It's still not fixed. Before I found this
thread I reported it on my own:

I followed Max advice and downloaded the Sid 3.1f-1 sources and tried to make
it:
the last lines...
unpacking the loop-aes-sources and exchanging the makefile to the above
mentioned patched one did not work for me either...
